Bermuda Civic Ballet is pleased to announce our Summer Intensive 2019 program. Our Summer Intensive 2019 is being run by our Acting Artistic Director Dominique Willis, who has put together an incredible 2 week program for dancers in Bermuda aged 11 and up. 

We welcome four amazing guest teachers for 2019! Our international professionals are:


Pablo Francisco Ruvalcaba

Mr. Ruvalcaba is a graduate of the Juilliard School and a 20-year veteran of the José Limón Dance
Company. He has been an invited artist at the Jacob's Pillow's production of “The Men Dancers: from The
Horse's Mouth” and has recently been a guest artist for American Ballet Theater and soloist for Movement
Migration. Mr. Ruvalcaba teaches the Limón technique and its repertory extensively nationally and
internationally, and will be teaching Limon based modern and set a work this summer.


Maria Caruso

Ms. Caruso is the Founder and Director of Bodiography Contemporary Ballet and Chair of the Performing
Arts Department at La Roche University. Caruso is well known for her leadership as well as her
choreographic strength in focusing on humanity in dance. Nominated in 2012 by Examiner.com as one of
25 finalists in the "America Inspired" contest, she continues to utilize dance as a means of expression
capable of raising awareness about significant subject matter. Ms. Caruso had an extensive solo career and
now 15-year career with Bodiography Contemporary Ballet. She will teach ballet and set a contemporary
ballet work this summer.


Rikkai Scott 

Mr. Scott, a graduate of the London Contemporary Dance School, The Place, is a Bermudian dance artist
and choreographer. Scott spent time touring internationally with De Kiss Moves Fusion Dance Company, in
Amsterdam, after which he formed his own company, BDBlaq Dance based in London, UK. Rikkai’s work
has been commissioned by Bermuda Cultural Affairs, Artists 4 Artists and Southbank Center, London, and
has been performed internationally. Rikkai will teach contemporary modern dance this summer.


Precious Adams

Ms. Adams, born in Michigan, USA, is a pioneer, and among the few top-level black women in ballet,
helping lead the way for diversity in classical ballet. She is currently a First Artist with the English National
Ballet and for the past 5 years has performed in over 400 shows and toured the world with the English
National Ballet. She was a double prize winner at the Prix de Lausanne 2014, and a National Critic’s Circle
prize winner 2018 for best Emerging Dancer. Ms. Adams will also teach ballet and set classical works this
summer.
